Vodafone Mid-Range Smartphone

Sony Xperia M4 Aqua £99 Save £51 PAYG

Firstly starting with the bullseye bright red Vodafone. Released in 2015 we unboxed the Sony Xperia M4 Aqua. This is an excellent handset released this year originally costing £200. Equiped with 2GB of RAM an Octa-Core Processor system, wielding the Snapdragon 615 CPU with two Quad-Core Cortex A53 processors spinning gold. It’s fast! Incidentally these are the same processors used by the premium Samsung Galaxy S6 & the Samsung Galaxy S6 edge clocked at the same rate 1.5Ghz.

As well as being waterproof another major function of the M4 Aqua is the front facing wide angle 5MP camera. Capturing surprisingly excellent flicks and selfies including 720p HD video front and back (1080p @30fps HD) balanced and complemented with the 13MP rear primary. The only thing that lets the M4 down is it’s storage space. You won’t be able to install all your favorite apps, the 32GB SD card is well worth investing in, if your going to be taking lots of photo’s. We ran into storage problems on our field test when we visited Dismaland, this is an excellent first smartphone for mom and dad making a gift for Christmas now at only £99 (Saving £51) PAYG Big Value bundle.

The HTC One M8s £21 Monthly Save £192

Released in 2014 the HTC One M8 has a beautiful unique Unibody cold metal aluminium design. Just the feel of the handset will make you realize and appreciate the hard work and craft that has gone into slicing it altogether. The device comes with 2GB of RAM as standard but more then adequate enough partnered with an Octa-Core system; featuring one clocked Cortext A53 Quad Core Processor at 1.7 GHz mirrored with another A53 quad clocked at 1.0 GHz beneath the hood and 5inch aluminium frame and 1080 x 1920 display with high pixel density.

The HTC One M8s doesn’t feature the in-built IR Blaster on the very top of the phone so you can’t use it to turn off your TV which is handy, if you loose the remote half way down the sofa that leads to underground Narnia. The MicroSD card slot will make your jaw drop supporting an additional 128GB of memory storage should you invest and need the extra space for photo, video and even apps. MotionLaunch allows you to keep in touch with your BlinkFeed and apps with a single swipe, just lifting the phone to your ear will automatically answer any call you receive. Finally the HTC BoomSound speakers are arguably still unmatched in sound quality across the whole market. The HTC One M8s comes with 1000 minutes, unlimited text and 1GB of data for just £21 per month on contract saving £192!

The LG G4c £99 Save £76 PAYG

The LG G4c is the dumbed down compact version of the LG G4. Which was on sale yesterday for #VodafoneREDThursday on PAYG, with a whopping saving of £126 at just £299 now back at RRP of £425. If you missed out on this deal, subscribe to our blog and never miss and opportunity like it again. The LG G4c aforementioned is a mid range handset unlike its bigger premium brother the G4. The supporting specifications don’t quite match the M8 or the M4 Aqua. Again with only 8GB internal space (half of it already used up with the OS) you’ll run into storage problems, thus the MicroSD Card slot is there to be used and incorporated expanding up to as much as 128GB.

The 8MP Camera will shoot when you smile and exclaim ‘Kimchee’ or when you close your fist for selfies. You’ll get 46hrs of battery life from the device or 6-7 hours with hardcore gaming and music use. The LG G4c has a smaller 5 inch 720 x 1280p display, the entire handset has LG’s signature bend and flex making it deceptively more durable then the average phone. Some features of the G4c enable you to open the lockscreen with a double tap or check your notifications by simply dragging your finger down on the display. Some downgrades from the LG G4 include only 1GB of RAM (3GB on the LG G4) and the predated Snapdragon 410 CPU with a Quad Core 1.3 and 1.2 familiar Cortex-A53. Quite a downgrade from the Hexa-Core LG G4. If LG is yours or a loved one’s theme this would be the preferable device. On sale now for only £99 PAYG.
