From everything we have seen of the device on social media and YouTube it is a thing of beauty!
The Screen
Must surely be one of the finest built and coveted viewed features of the Samsung Galaxy S6 edge, with its curve it looks third dimentional, like it is poppping out at you and bright enough to bounce the light from the sun with 1440 x 2560p in resolution, all these pixels square down to ~577 ppi (pixels per inch) which also helps for when it comes to re-cropping images. With a (Standered-like) super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen, and also the standard 16 Million shades of ‘Colour’ spread over the surface area of the curved ‘Protected Cornering Gorrilla Glass’ (Not standard) which you probably know by now and to me personally has the appeal of the bonnet of a Dodge Viper only lacking the wheels and go faster strips, it’s sexy as hell on wheels! The tilted doube edged cornering can be picked provided your preference and utilised with the UI making the SGS6 souly over the S6 and everything else deceptively yet truthfully user friendly and true.
Design & Usability
User notifications no matter how important cannot be ignored and sometimes get pressed by mistake on many devices and can even sometimes be annoying or even make you jump! Did any of this ever happen to you? Samsung listening to this and to the users “Connectivity” being the keyword have utilised the design language of the edge, not just as a statement in design and innovation but as a stealth-like tiltable notifications pannel. The curve of the entire screen works toward this connectivity cure for all lighting up the screen in a user programed colour coordinated flash of light which shines when one of your favourite contacts is calling you; Facedown, or tilting I think you should be able to program it to avoid pesky calls!
Camera & Proformence
The display and image capture of Photograpghy and HDR Video is sharp clear and precise. Reports and comparison of side by side on YouTube seem to favour the S6 edge over the iPhone 6 in terms of camera proformence. Nevertheless the details you get to play with are extravagant with the 16MP rear primary camera. As previously mentioned this gives you a higher crop rate both in initial capture and in the editing stages taking shots at 2988 x 5312p in auto HDR, with Optical Image Stabalisation along with a tonne of other premium flagship features thrown in with it. The 5MP front facing camera is also impressive with its capture limited to 1440p@30fps in auto HDR.
Processing Power
Both the Samsung Galaxy S6 & Galaxy S6 edge run with 3GB of Double Data Rate 4 RAM- This means the memory works 80% faster at swivelling through bits of data when needed then the many majority of other smartphone’s on the planet. Samsung also picked to use their own Xynos 7420 chip ‘Enunciated’ like (Xylophone ) instead of the typical industry favourited Snapdragon 810 both of which are used for partnering an Octo-Core processor setup.
