The Z4 Released In Japan & Will Sony Ever Sell It’s Smartphone Branch Of The Business? Are the Z3 and Z2 still worth getting?

Over the weekend it emerged that the Sony Xperia Z4 was announced in Japan. Again in speculation and theory the internet and twitter chatter take this to mean that it will only be a matter of time before Sony reveal the Xperia Z4 to a global market with nothing offical on the books yet.

Wherever you look people are always speculating about Sony and their exclusive watertight smartphone and tablet range. Sony is making a loss with their Smartphone tentical arm in the industry and I often see people wonder and suggest that Sony will even sell out and flee the smartphone businesses. I don’t think this will ever happen.

One reason I think it won’t is because people will need phone’s to communicate, just like we do now for probably the next decade before the Halo lens, VR, and AR (Augmented Reality) takes hold of our attention and takes the Sony Xperia Z10 and any other handset out of the equation and dimension completely.

For Sony to ignore a market of seaming necessity (Such as the Smartphone) which will burst and evolve into something else used by everyone which they’ll want to get involved in and work with (VR/AR) would be a crazy opportunity on the horizon to ignore! Not just to mention the money involved selling out and leaving an industry, or the loss of face that would come with that. Sony won’t sell or remove their mobile fingertips from the proverbial pie.

Why Not?

Because if someone or anyone is talking about buying a part of the Sony company branch, this in itself by definition suggests that the company has value. Sony won’t sell because they have something of value, the only full waterproof range on the market! That and because I like my phone. Sony has fans! Sony has the Playstation 4 too! I have the Sony Xperia Z2 and it’s a beautiful reliable phone which does the job and everything I need it to do, including the best graphically enhanced games/apps and more then anyone could hope for, on top of this it’s fully waterproof…

I’m not pitching anything to you! This month ahead I’m buying the Samsung Galaxy S6 edge, the 64GB model. It’s my first financial business investment for EZ-Mobiles and costing me an arm and a leg and it isn’t even waterproof… This and trying to remain unbias (because I own the Z2) is now something I have come accustomed to expect from a Smartphone so I know for a fact, at least to me, and probably many others like me, waterproofing a device from the factory should be expected at all times and the S6/edge is a disappointment with the failure to deliver it.

I’ll be using the edge for a mobile phone review, video and written and for future comparisons projects. I expect to continue and remain using my Sony Xperia Z2 after I have fully reviewed the Samsung Galaxy S6 edge hopefully as planned this coming month in May 2015- please do leave us a comment if you think the Samsung Galaxy S6/edge should have also been waterproofed? I’m clumsy so wish it officially had already!

Again, Why use the Z2 over the S6 edge? What am I talking about?

Check anywhere else and you’ll see exactly what I’m saying here expressed in a different language. The Z2/Z3/Z4 arn’t released yearly but upgrade twice yearly quadrupling in processing power slowly and unnoticeably every four months. An Octo-Core processor should be pretty speedy on the system we’ve become adjusted too and only just updated to Android Lollipop 5.0.2 this week with the Z2 with the OS update also availble on the Z3.

Any More Reasons?

Because The Z2 is waterproof? Because the camera at 20.7 MP with Optical image Stabilisation and Sony Steady Shot totally kicks ass? Because all I need to do is hold down ‘shoot’ and in miliseconds I’m capturing multiple shots? That helps I admit, but no, just because the handset is simply light and perfectly thin and natrual for my lanky and clumsy hand’s to hold onto? No, its because of it’s oh so cool and monolithicly modern-art-decor design which I love. When I first unboxed the Z2 and touched it, it was cold and I was in awe. If you have a house or apartment like IKEA you’ll apreciate the design and the waterproofing assurance never mind practice of watertight practical use and alluring safety net that comes with the Xperia range.

Back to the Sony Xperia Z4 & It’s Release

Sony only featured the Sony Xperia Z4 tablet and the Xperia Aqua M4 at the MWC in March. So this also wows speculation if it will even be released in Europe and the USA. Since Sony haven’t said anything to cement this information everyone is content to be talking about it. They have the Playstation 4- I think with this logic we can pretty much guarantee there’s going to be one more Sony Xperia Z4 for the planet to see can we not? Added to this in the circles in the know, we can expect more news and information from Sony in regards to the Z4 at IFA 2015 in Berlin around September.

What Are The Specifications for the Z4 in Japan?

So far in Japan the Z4 is running what appears to be two Quad-Core processors, giving it eight powerful pillars to support the ceiling with it’s Octo-Core processing system which has now become de-facto the new standard for a flagship or the decent model SmartPhone. Compare this to the Samsung Galaxy S6 edge (since i’ve being banging on about it) and we also have an Octo-Core processing system with a difference powered only by Samsung’s own Exynos 7420 chipset. The Sony Xperia Z4 using the industry higher standard, but skipping a generation Snapdragon 805 wounded in pride set aside instead for the powerful and abashed Snapdragon 810. More Specs

The Sony Xperia Z4 still packs only 3GB of RAM. This I’m willing to bet my reputation on will probably be DDR4 RAM which again is the same available on the SGS6/edge! Let’s not forget, I’m perfectly happy with my Sony Xperia Z2 which will be a whole two generations old with the speed that Sony delivers on a platter (to the discerning smartphone owner or contract payer) an aquatic modern stylised under- water handset range at an offordable price. The Z2 is disappearing from the networks stock list as we speak, never to be replaced again.

The Sony Xperia Z2 now getting on in mobile years and my personel phone packs an impressive Quad-Core 2.3 GHz processor, It’s currently running Lollipop 5.0.2 working along perfectly with its long lasting battery and power saving mode I hardly need to use. The Z3 is even ‘slightly’ better then the Z2 and cheaper on contract!

The Sony Xperia Z4 will only improve upon the Z2 and Z3 in terms of an even better long lasting battery along with fast charging thrown in on top charging the device 60% in 30 minutes and of course the Octo-Core processing power which would again be speaking in tongues to the earlier Z2/Z3 editions requiring the memory support to be 80% faster which, in terms of Moore’s law (which turned 50 this year incidently) is precisely what we’ll see with the Sony Xperia Z4 and the Samsung Galaxy S6/edge and even the iPhone 6. This year is a fast and historical year for processing power indeed; occurring on the crest of the wave before everything falls into the calamity of artifical intelligence and wherever that leaves us….

We’ll keep you updated with anything else we hear through the grapevine on the Sony Xperia Z4. As standard for Sony the Triluminous display and colour depth will also not be truly improved upon microscopicly in terms of (PPi) pixels per inch and the 1080 x 1920 resolution of the device will stretch it’s screen surface area 5.2 inches and be the same capacitive LCD touchscreen as used before and time and time again.

The camera is also sporting the same 20.7MP found in the Z2 and Z3. The front facing camera an improved 5.1MP with a wide angle lens for selfies! So all we really have here with the Z4 (Probably due to be released around September) is a much, much, faster system running on two Quad Core Processors. As usual if you’ve made it this far you know you’re a champion right? A champion! I hope you know I enjoy writing our blog, thanks for reading and have an excellent Morning/Afternoon/Evening 🙂
