@EzMobiles we can only perceive three unfortunate stumbling blocks that tarnish the appeal behind FreedomPop’s service and network. Most of these can be forgiven worked with and overcome. If you can’t get a contract any other way because of credit history FreedomPop don’t preform any credit checks.

Limited coverage

Low coverage, especially for phone calls. With the one time pay only free for life service, you’ll be limited to using home broadband or WiFi to make fast and clear calls. This limitation can be partially alleviated with the £1.99 Premium Voice add-on bolted on to your plan but not fully avoided and solved. You’ll then be fully capable of outgoing calls using the network signal when mobile. However even with this add-on you’re still unable to receive incoming calls from families and friends not with FreedomPop.

Default Free Service Has Low Data

The free tariff provided by FreedomPop includes only 200MB of data which isn’t initially a lot to go on. One hour of calling over Skype equates 350MB, whereas streaming 1 hour of Youtube set to the standard 720p would weigh in at around 100-350MB, 60 web pages average clocking in at approximately 140MB, you get the picture 200MB is insufficient for a moderate users day, nevermind month.

Automatic Topping Up

The free tariff provided by FreedomPop includes only 200MB of data which already isn’t a lot to go on. By default your account details provided will be used to top up your FreedomPop account £10 when you’re 100MB away from maxing your allotted data. This means that you only get 100MB of free data. This can be avoided by restricting automatic billing and fully countered by monitoring Usage Alerts and paying for the additional 99p safety net.
